Down’s Syndrome
Support Group!
We’re a small volunteer-run charity, supporting families in Wakefield and surrounding areas. We aim to bring families together to create a network of support and make a difference, and to have fun and build friendships along the way.
About Us
We’re a volunteer-led charity – run by parents and carers of children and young people with Down’s syndrome – working throughout the Wakefield and nearby areas.
What’s On
We offer loads of activities for children with Down’s syndrome of all ages (and their siblings) so you’ll find plenty of ways to get involved.
About DS
Whether you’re a parent or a professional, this section aims to give you some basic information about Down’s syndrome and point you in the right direction to find out more…
For New Parents
Whether you’re expecting, or have had your baby – huge congratulations! We understand finding out your baby has Down’s syndrome can be difficult – we’re here to help.
How You Can Help
Thank you so much for wanting to get involved in our group! As a small, parent-led charity, any help you can give us will make a big difference.
What I Wish I’d Known
We remember first hearing that diagnosis, and the fears and uncertainty it brought. And we wish we knew then what we know now. We want to help those following in our footsteps….
